Hansika interview

HANSIKA MOTWANI INTERVIEW
The Little Kushboo of Kollywood is all
smiles. With her Oru Kal Oru Kannadi
(OKOK) with Udayanidhi Stalin all set to
release shortly, catch the bubbly and
effervescent Hansika Motwani on a
chat with Behindwoods.com.
The expectation about OKOK
OKOK is my first release in 2012 and I
am looking forward to it.
I play the character of Meera. The hero
of the film, Udayanidhi and his friends
try to woo me, and I play the ‘hard one
to get’ girl role. On the sets, Udayanidhi
and I got along like a house on fire.
The film is a hilarious rom-com and I
am sure it will entertain the audience
to no limits.
Working with big actors like Vijay,
Dhanush and Jeyam Ravi and about the
dream hero in films
I am a greedy actress and I have just
started my career. Even before my first
film in Tamil was released, I had four
films in my hand. I have a long way to
go and would like to work with all the
big actors and do a lot more films
The journey from a child model to a
top heroine
I was very successful as child model
and actress. However, I have to take
breaks for my studies. I debuted as a
heroine at the age of 16 plus and there
has been no looking back.
The south Indian connection
Till I met Mr Puri Jagannath, who did
Desamuduru, I never had any idea of
doing films in the South. He
approached me and Desamuduru got
me the Filmfare Award for the best
debut actress. Now after doing several
Tamil films, Chennai has become my
favorite place. Though a Punjabi by
birth, I have become a Tamilian at
heart.
The Chinna (Little) Kushboo status
I am privileged to be called by the
name and identified with such a
legendary artist. Actor Vijay gave me
the name and soon the industry
started identifying me as Chinna
Kushboo. I feel great about it as not
everybody will get such a compliment. I
felt so happy when Kushboo madam
called me and appreciated my work in
some of the films. Now, I want to live
up to people’s expectations.
Working with STR in Vettai Mannan and
on doing multi-heroine films
I shot for about 10 days with STR for
Vettai Mannan. He was very sweet,
decent and professional. I am a very
professional artiste and though the
film has another heroine, my part is
very clear and we do not have any
combo scenes.
On the gossips that are going around
Staying in films as a top actress is
difficult. I had four films in a very short
period in Tamil and I know that many
people were trying for those roles.
Hence it was natural to have a lot of
rumors. The alleged link up with
Prabhu Deva was shocking to me.
Initially I was dignified enough to keep
mum. Prabhu Deva and I share a
brother-sister relationship and twisting
it out of proportion was outrageous.
When things went out of proportion, I
issued a statement explaining the facts.
Your relationship with actress
Nayanthara
Nayanthara is a very beautiful actress. I
have met her on a couple of times. She
came to the sets of Engeyum Kathal on
a couple of occasions and we were
very happy together.
